Blizzards, Hurricanes, and Tornadoes: Texas Literary Weather

SAN ANGELO, TX: Two Angelo State University professors are calling for submissions of poetry, fiction, and non-fiction about weather in the Lone Star State. The Texas Weather Anthology will be edited by Terry Dalrymple and Laurence Musgrove and published by Lamar University Literary Press.texasweatheranthology

According to the editors, the original submission deadline was October 1, 2015, but the editorial staff of the anthology was so overwhelmed by the superior quality of the early submissions that they extended the deadline into 2016. And that seems fitting in a state where everything is bigger and bolder.

The call for submissions states that writers do not have to reside in Texas, but the submissions should highlight the importance of weather: “we are looking for stories in which Texas weather is more than just a setting or background and a significant influence or major player in the dramatic action.”
